Outangdi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section lies east of Outangdi Village, Jiangshan County, Zhejiang Province. It was named by Lu Yanhao et al. in 1955.
Lithology and Thickness
Conglomerate to Siltstone, and Dolomite. Composed of quartz conglomerate interbedded with purple-red sandstone and siltstone. The upper part is intercalated with dolomite of limestone lenses. Thickness is 28−192 m at Jiangshan type section.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Conformably contact over the Yejiatang Fm; or unconformably directly over the Zhuzangwu Fm with quartz conglomerate
Upper contact
Conformable continuous transition to the overlying Laohudong or Huanglong or Chuanshan Fm.
Regional extent
The thickness varies greatly: being 0.5−10 m at Yushan of Jiangxi; Changshan, Jiande and Xindeng of Zhejiang and northern Zhejiang, where the overlying stratum is the Laohudong Fm; 28−192 m at Jiangshan, Quzhou and Lanxi of Zhejiang, where the overlying stratum is the Huanglong Fm; >200 m at Dazhou of Quxian County, Zhejiang, where the overlying stratum is the Chuanshan Fm. The formation is not seen in the vicinity of Hangzhou.

Fossils
The main fossils are Fusulinids Profusulinella sp., Pseudostaffella sp., Eofusulina sp., etc.; Corals Caninia sp. and Michelina sp.; and Brachiopods Choristites abnormali, Spiriferella media, Dictyoclostus sp., Eomarginifera sp., etc.
